Parents

Well, I'm 23 years old and still live with my parents, but I still pay $150 a month to them for "rent". I recently lost my job and can't pay for my bills. I only have three bills, which are my car insurance, and my two credit cards, total of bills only adding up to $103. I don't get my first unemployment check till four weeks from sunday, so I asked my parents if they could help me out and I would pay them back. Well instead they told me that if they are going to help me, then from now on I have to surrender all my checks to them, give them my credit cards and debit card, show my mom my bank account and if i want money I would need to ask for it. Otherwise they refuse to help me. My parents have been trying for years to control my money but I never let them, and now i guess they found a way to control it. I feel like im stuck, I'm not sure what to do, I don't really want to be controlled and have that lack of privacy.

I'm really not sure what to say, this is a tough one...I'm not sure there is much you can do...I moved out when I was 18 but I also had a partner, which makes things much easier...the cost of living nowadays is outrageous...I would say you are just going to have to put up with it for the time being and try your hardest to get back in the workforce and get independent becuase if your parents are that controlling they aren't going to quit until you move out...and maybe not even then! Best of luck...

sorry i do not know
