Im Not Sure What To Do

There is a girl in my class that i have become friends with. I have strong feelings toward her, but i fear that if i ask her out and she dosent feel the same way our friendship will be ruined and everyone will make fun of me. I am already hated by half of the kids in my grade. Its killing me inside. What should i do?
