True there are a lot of scams out there. Especially right now but its strange that you are not getting money because I have walked people through a medical discharge and they receive their money the same month they leave. The army has gotten a lot better at not leaving its people behind.

You should have filled out all the paperwork before you even got out. They would have sent you through a medical review board who would have told you what percentage you were getting and you would have gotten it as soon as you got out. The only way that didn't happen is if the medical board gave you nothing and you are filing through VA for an appeal to try to get something.

Now the VA is part of the med board process so you should have gotten answers from VA and the army before being discharged.

I saw your question, Please be careful due to the fact that I myself has been scammed four times by four lenders in my search for a loan of $100,000USD. but at last I got a reliable lender. that gave me the loan($100,000 USD) that I was in dire need of for my new year investment.. Hence I decided that I will refer anybody I come across to this God sent lender. he is reliable and his terms are fair. You can get to him via his email address: rolandkenloanfirm@yahoo.com, Please tell him I Pastor Mrs Mechon Brown from #2423 cystal lane in CA USA. have search for a legit lender until I got him and I decided to help my fellow humans with this because there are a lot of fake lenders out there and I do not want any body to fall a prey please get to him and tell him that I referred you to him... contact: rolandkenloanfirm@yahoo.com

Hi, my name is Samantha fisher, i was in serious need of financial aid

due to the current global financial melt down finding such was very difficult.

i was so desperate even to the extent that i got scammed

to the tune of eight thousand dollars.($5,000 dollars).

But God finally came to my rescue when i came across

Mr Kelvin Brown who eventually secured for me the loan

that i have so desperately wanted. You can reach him via email on

    diamondfinanceloanfirm@gmail.com

N.B; Please be careful while searching for financial assistance

because there are fraudsters surfing the internet looking for

people to swindle of their hard earned money .

    I sooooooooooo agree with:

This is enraging. All of this stimulus spending could go towards situations such as this. I agree with salonx, a person in the armed forces should never have to deal with something like this

AMEN- where the hell is all of our tax money going, anyway? It's certainly not going to the benefit of the unselfish, brave souls who lay their own lives down to secure OUR wellbeing and FREEDOM!!!

God bless you for your service, I pray that you come to know that He is your source- and that He shall supply ALL of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Please, an update request... how are things now?

Sign me an eternally grateful, free American-

I am so very sorry that you have to go through all this and it sounds like you are going through it all alone. I, myself, am not able to send you anything since I am struggling every day to make ends meet myself. I have health issues and have been on disability. It took my 3 years to get that. If it wasn't for me being a mom I would not have been able to get any assistance from social services. My daughter turned 18 so I was cut off of social services before my disability was approved so I was living on 280 a month I was getting for babysitting my great niece and it was hard as hell.

I wish you the very best and hope you can get the help you need quickly. I am sorry that I couldn't help you out.

You absolutely can defer your student loans for at least a period of 6 months. I had to do it myself at one point in time. Call them. It isn't difficult to get a deferment.

Also--in your situation you may qualify for food stamps if you have low or no income currently, check with your local department of Human services there in your county. There may also be some other types of assistance they can put you in touch with.

Sorry man. Unfortunately there are too many scams out there, so there are very few people who will just throw you their hard earned cash on your word alone. I suggest doing what bobmendon above suggested. Good luck. I am a 23-year retired SFC. Thanks for your service.

Welcome home and thanks for your sacrifice. I am a 20 yr retired SFC of the US Army and a college instructor. Yes, there are ways to put off the student loan repayment either through deferment or forbearance. You need to contact a veterans service officer for help with your paperwork. I assume you are trying to process a VA disability. So do this:

    1. Contact your student loan debtors and request an unemployed deferment.

    2. Contact a local veteran service officer. http://nacvso.org/?page_id=14 />

    3. If things get too crazy for you call 1-800-273-talk. They are great people and understand your situation.

Don't have any cash to send.

Have you applied for a deferment with student loans? You can apply online. There's another way to stop having to make payments but I forgot what it's called. Try applying for both. It'll buy you some time.
