It's Not The End But It Sure Feels Like It

What do you want to be when you grow up? In school, after school, and 10 years later I still can't answer that question. I have a job as a welder, I'm not very good at it, but my boss treats me like crap, my coworkers treat me like crap, and I'm hot, tired, and exhausted everyday after work. All for just enough money to pay the bills. I don't mind manual labor, but the stress of my everyday job is killing me. I don't think I can handle it for another 40 years. I hate the city I live in and the people in it. I'm not very close with my family, my choice, and I have no friends. My daily routine is: wake up at 4am, drive an hour to work, work hard for 12hrs, drive a hour home, eat dinner, go to sleep, and repeat 7 days a week. I've tried many different jobs, lived in many different cities, but it's all just the same. Thing started getting better in 2010 when I married the woman of my dreams. But the week before our second anniversary she's up and left me. And here I am, a job I hate, in a city that I hate, with a life I hate.

aww poor you, I really dont think you're the only one though. i think most people hate their jobs. i certainly do. is there a careers advisor you could speak to? like at a college or something? they could recommend a course or something to give you access into another career. what do you think of engineering? also if you are not that close with your family then why not try somewhere even more different?
