Looking For the Cost Efficient Way

I am very tall with a high metabolism mid 30's and I dont have the money to eat 3000 calories a day. I was wondering if there was anyone in the same boat and if they might have some suggestions. I've tried protien shakes and so forth but my body doesnt respond well to protien (painful).

I am a 30 year old guy that is 6'7" tall and 180 lbs. No matter what I eat and how many calories I take it my weight never goes above 185. <br />

It has gone down as low as 165, but that was due to an illness where I couldn't eat...

I'm the same way. 20 year old guy, 5'6" and 102 lbs. Trying to gain weight to join the navy and stuffing my face as much as possible has gained me a total of 1 solid pound. :[ I eat lots of protein, fat, and carbs to no avail.
