Work

I work with the public, and although at times it has its rewards, there can also be a great downfall with dealing with so many people at one time.  People can be stupid, aggravating, insecure, loud, and downright rude when they don't get what they want.  ESPECIALLY when they are on vacation.  It's always "why isn't my room ready yet" or "my accomidations are not to par with my standards" or better yet "we are disappointed with your establishment and wish to have a full refund."  I know, I know...it's not something to whine about, a lot of people have difficult jobs.  And I also know that these people don't realize how many others like them that I have to deal with each and every day.  It's just, I wish that they could be more understanding in what sort of predicament they put me through, deal with it when I tell them that there really isn't anything I can do for them.  I feel bad, man do I, when I have nothing to offer my guests except for sympathy, but sometimes there's simply nothing to be done.  I apologize to all of you out there who want the perfect vacation, because a lot of times, you're not going to get what you want.  No matter how much you complain.

It sounds like you really do put your heart into your work. It's a pity that not everyone can appreciate that, and there's nothing like a vacation to bring out the self-centred side of people! I guess what's worse is that those aren't even constructive comments, there's no guide there as to how things could be improved. Really, at the end of the day, some people are just obnoxious complaining types - if they don't have anything constructive to add, then it's probably best to consider that they might just be blowing off steam because they didn't get laid, or have to go back to crappy unfulfilling lives.

and also surrender.... to love
