My Wedding

When I was a little girl I used to dream of getting married. The long white flowing dress with flowers in my hair, my family there throwing white rose peddles on me.

It was my dream but my own marriage turned to be much different. My husband and I married in Reno so I didn’t have to return to Canada. I know he is the one and I am happy we are together but my family, ha-ha, oh my, it was funny how they took it. My mother was happy because she has met him before and thought he was a gentleman. My father was freaking out because he didn’t know him and he is half Asian. Almost all my aunties, uncles, and grand parents all didn’t like the fact I got married in Reno. It has been hard but I know I did the right thing. I just wished the rest of the family was happy for me.

Perhaps an anniversary celebration, or a renewal of vows, where your family could all meet your husband would help. It would also mean you can have all the pieces of a wedding you dreamed about, but perhaps in a less stressful way.
