If I Can Do It, Anyone Can...

***Caution, May Trigger***

I began to cut when I was in 8th grade.  The first time was with a piece of broken glass from a picture frame.  I had been suffering from depression for a few years and just needed a release.

It wasn't long before cutting became just another one of my addictions.  I had to wear long sleeves in the house even when I was hot.  I had to cut more times, and deeper, as time went on.

I finally was able to stop thanks to lots of support from friends, family, and anti-depressants.

:)

I love your story. I am 13, and I am trying to stop, but the therapist will lock me up [in the mental house], if she finds out I was cutting. Is there anyone here who can help me?

I am trying to stop, and i've been doing it for five years. do anti depressants really help?

I too started cutting in 8th grade and battled with my depression. I'll share my story on here soon. I overcame it by my sophomore year in high school. Your story is similar to mine
