his new er...improvement...seems unbelievably negative for a place like this.
I add my voice to those who wish to lose this "ability". I come here for support, not to be trashed (or to trash others). Thanks all the same...

Experiment, being paid for by the gov't. One a serious note: I'm new so I don't know about the whole frownie face- I haven't done enough comments i gues- but I do think it's just a sh!t stirring 'tool'. I don't see how you could overlook the potentially (guarantied)negative effects of allowing u to know who dislikes ur comment. +3 nods |
 Feeling sick | Posted Jul 3rd, 2009 at 8:39AM Celainn, I agree with you. This can only breed bad feelings, especially given the fact you can only see who disses the comment, not who likes it. If this "ability" to see who downfrowns your comment is meant to keep people from abusing it (AKA the Fear Factor), why don't they just get rid of the smileys completely? What is the purpose of this to begin with? Really, who wants their comments to get voted on? It puts a junior high mentality in place. Whether you pay attention to these smileys or not, I guarantee you'll take note when you see someone's name glaring at you saying they didn't like something you said. That can't feel good no matter how thick skinned you are. I think this a negative, lose/lose situation. +6 nods |
