I Have Absolutely No Disipline Whatsoever

I've played piano since I was a kid.  I took lessons, but I just never practiced.  My dad always said it was amazing that I was as good as I was because of that (the only time I did practice was when my dad had me at the piano at 11 p.m. the night before my lesson and wouldn't allow me to go to bed until I finished the song).

I stopped taking lessons around middle school and started focusing on the flute, which became my main instrument.

Now, I've sort of come back to the piano.  But I can only learn a song if I'm really inspired to.  If I don't really feel compelled to do it, I can't learn it.  I just don't have the discipline to, even though in theory I know I could.  And I only use sheet music as a guide- I have to memorize a song before I can really play it.  And I hate reading the bass clef, which I never had to get used to because the flute doesn't go that low.

So basically, I'm good at the songs I can play, but that's only a few at the moment.  I really want to get more disciplined so that I can learn more, because I know I could, and I love playing...I just can't stay focused long enough to do it...

I also grew up learning to play the piano. I remember my mom playing certain songs as a child, and I would sit and listen to my favorites. I also didn't have discipline when it came to practicing. I think I took it for granted, and that's sad because now I want to go back to it and I know it won't be easy. I never did well with my left hand, I was always able to get my right hand to go fast enough, but never my left.
