Starting To Play The Piano

I was 9 years old when I started learning to play the piano. We had family friends who had a piano and everytime we visited them I always wanted to play on their piano. So much so that they showed me how to play a few notes. Next time we visited then, which was only about a week later, I could remember what I had played last time and wanted more. Because of my interest my parents got me a piano, I think they found someone who had a piano but wanted to get rid of it, and I was happy. My parents then aranged for me to have lessons to learn to play properly. Once a week I went to my piano teachers house, she luckily lived in the next street, and I enjoyed my lessons and learned to play some simple tunes quite quickly.

I then started taking exams at different grades. I learned quite quickly and by the time I was 13 years old my teacher admitted that she'd taken me as far as she could and that I should move on to another teacher.

Now that is another story.
