Should I?

I have a piano recital coming up in June.  I'm a piano teacher, and usually I just get all the kids up to play their pieces.  One year I didn't play anything because the recital was long enough, but one parent thought I should have played something.  I get so nervous when playing for people, the anxiety is too much for my stomach and my hands shake and my vision blurrs.

I tried to play last year, and took anxiety pills beforehand and beta blockers too to still my beating heart, but I still felt unfocused.

Being an example (the teacher!) is also very stressful,  and I really don't remember any of my teachers having to perform!!!

It's too bad because I think it's actually appropriate that I play something at the end.
