Tennis Is A Game For Life...

I began playing tennis and being a big fan of tennis after watching matches in the early 70's between such great players as Jimmy Connors, Bjorn Borg, Stan Smith, Ile Nastase, Chris Evert and Billie Jean King.  I have now been playing for more than 30 years and still learning and getting better all the time (slower but better ground strokes and consistency).  What is great about the sport is that feeling when you play others at similar  abilities, it is always a great match, no matter of what level of play.  For the last 5 years or so, I have played USTA tennis.  I am rated at a 3.5 level and have been captain of my men's league team.  I wish I had joined a lot earlier in my life because this experience of playing competitive team tennis is a real blast.  If you enjoy the sport and playing a competitive match, I would suggest that you join the USTA and find a league team to play on at your local club.  Don't wait until you are 50 years old like I did...  because tennis is a game for life so get the most out of it.

I agree that you can play tennis for a long time as long as your knees and shoulders hold out.
