I've played the cello since I was 8, all the way through school. I loved playing it but I get incredibly nervous performing which meant I sucked at exams so stopped doing them as it took the fun out of it. I stopped lessons in my last year of school but still played in my orchestra but since being at uni I haven't played at all. I've lost all my confidence in it and just feel like I've got to the best I'm going to be and there's no point carrying on. When I think about it I miss playing a lot, I just wish I still had the drive to do it.

I am teaching myself to play the cello using a book and DVD. Is this possible? I know a teacher would be better but I can't afford one.
