I remember sitting at my grandmother's grand piano and teaching myself to play from my
mother's old lesson books. Now, years later I traded my first used Baldwin upright for a baby
grand Mason and Hamlin with the addition of a commissioned oil landscape (of my own) and
some extra cash. I love this new antique addition to my home even though it dominates the
room. But I can play by ear and it is comforting to me to do that in addition to reviewing the
reading of music. Last year I took a music orientation course at Julliard Evening division and
it encouraged me to continue. But I still adore U2 and John Coltrane and Alice In Chains and ACDC. I guess I am eclectic in my love for Schubert and Arcade Fire and Miles Davis.
