New to Affirmations....kind Of...

I have flirted with positive affirmations for years...

...little post it notes around my computer & the bathroom mirror...notecards...bookmarks...noted in my pocket...saying things over & over in my head...

Nothing has "stuck" for very long.  So, I'm trying a new approach and I'm having success.  I got myself an Affirmations Journal - separate from my regualr journal.  I found some positive affitmations on the internet and made up a few of my own, and now I write them over & over on the pages of this journal.  Each one I write about 6 times before moving on to another.  Sometimes I write it more, sometimes less....but the process of writing it down makes it more "real" for me, than just saying it in my head....and a friend told me that I was glowing after a session of writing one day....

I'm not saying I'm doing it every day...it's hard to make myself do anything but eat, breathe and sleep every day.  But, I'm doing it often, and I must say I have noticed a reduction in the negative chatter in my head...

So, if you have tried affirmations with little success, try writing them down....see if it starts to work for you...SS

How you doing SerenitySeeker...DD

This is a wonderful idea! Thank you for sharing! I'm going to try an Affirmation Journal!

Any time....SS

I used to do this. I put mine on my bath room mirror and read it as I shaved. The point is that in this over stimulated world it was good for me to start the day something SOLID to take with me into the world. Thanks for reminding me...DD
