Yeah

I would say the majority of the time I prefer the book to the movie. I do like the movies Thank You For Smoking and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest more than the books. I still enjoy the books, though.

If I like the book a lot - like, A LOT - I won't see the movie. Sometimes the movie is so awful it ruins the book for me. I refuse to see any movies based on Michael Crichton's books (other than Jurassic Park).

Sometimes I'll like the movie a lot and picture the characters in the movie when I read the book. I don't think I'll ever be able to picture Jack Torrance as anyone other than Jack Nicholson again. At least Nicholson is a good actor. It's rather annoying when the actors aren't that good and I picture them. Still, I'd rather make up the images of the characters in my head than based off some random person.

Yep, same here. I don't like a face being "picked" for me.

i like books because you can imagine the characters however you'd like. and even drift off to your own storyline.
