    "..insulation from those things that go bump and crunch in the night..."

    Oh yes ...tents leave a lot to be desired concerning the crunchings....

    eeek

    I lived in Alaska as a kid and have seen some humongous bears....

    I live in a trailer with no running water, and no poopoopotty...?!

    "I use a fifty five gallon oil drum filled with woodchips for an outhouse.

    When it rains I just dodge the drops, and the mice dance on their hind legs to entertain me!?"

    Oh hey yeah....I think I have been to your place...

    Peaceonearth, What dimension does this tent exist in? I'd love to visit that realm!!

    I love how easy my little tent is to assemble & the mat that self inflates--that is so cool! I definitely applaud taking one's self, a few prize possessions (for me its books, journals, a lantern and something to drink & munch on) and leaving it all behind.

    I've always had to have an escape valve. My friends lakeside property is where I've been going lately, for refueling and sustenance. But I've also got my own room in our house. I can't even imagine being in relationship without having my own space to retreat to whenever I like. One night I vow to sleep on the trampoline under the stars...in our backyard.

    So far, I've always gone for the insect-free protection of see-thru netting of my tent walls. A vision quest---staying out alone all night--I'm not sure if I'm ready for that one. I do love my creature comforts (:>

    ...and the insulation from those things that go bump and crunch in the night...

    Indeed such a gathering would require many tents!

    Yes yes..and perhaps a large tent for cooking and eating and gathering...

    Tents and domes for days...all sizes,some with many rooms.

    I have a 40 person canvas tent.

    It has wood stoves and tiny 4 inch stove pipe that goes thru a special fireproof opening.

    I got it years ago and have never erected it.

    {it would take a four elephant crew to set it up-heh}

    EP camping trip - interesting.

    Negativity and ugly atmosphere would not be conductive to a healthy baby..

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    There is somthing about portable shelters that makes me feel real.
    Connected.
    Grounded.
    What put the idea into my mind (although I have always enjoyed camping) was hearing about a young pregnant woman who chose to live in a tent on a hill rather than at her parents home where the atmosphere was ugly.
    "I want to live in a funky little tent, cook on a camp fire and listen to the creatures of the night..."
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    As well you should!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I have found that this lifestyle is most pleasing to those of us that choose to stay in tents because it is fun for a while.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Many people are being forced to live in tents for lack of housing or shelters.

    This can be a hardship for the elderly,the children, and the disabled.

    It is a disgrace when people need help and find it almost impossible to find..

    Families are losing their homes,the economy sucks like an ElectroLuxe.
