I have recently quit smoking for the second time, and I've gotta tell you, it was quite the experience! I'm sure that most smokers out there have heard of an Author by the name of Allen Carr? Well, just in case you haven't, here's a brief primer: Allen was a 100-a-day chain smoker that thought there was no way out of the nicotine trap. To his amazement, he found just that, what all smokers had been waiting for - an EASY, EFFECTIVE way to quit. A way that wouldn't just work for himself, but all smokers!

Now, that all sounds very well and nice, but is it true? YES! I found smoking to be relatively easy to quit, and as each day passes I'm growing less and less fond of even coming anywhere near the smell of tobacco. My roommate smokes and it's not so much that I don't like it because there is a temptation in the air, but I just plain and simply don't like the smell anymore.

The method that Allen employs is called "EASYWAY." Yes, I know; it sounds extremely corny. I understand. I'm with you on that one, but bear with me... His method is unique in the fact that he doesn't scare you with all of the health risks, the financial implications, the social stigma, etc. Instead of focusing on the reasons why you DON'T SMOKE, he focuses on all of the reasons why you DO! It proves extremely effective as you later learn that all of the so-called "advantages" of a smoker are quite literally illusions; They are myths propagated by great advertising, the brainwashing of society (which is slowly starting to break down with regard to smoking), and the nicotine addict himself, who will do anything to convince himself that he MUST be getting a benefit from choking himself all day...

Anyways, I just thought I'd share my 'I quit smoking story'
