3 Days Smoke Free

I've been a smoker for 35 years...but as I reflect back and think forward...I want to finish my life healthy and fulfilled.  I"m a grandmother of 4, as well as still have my own 13 year old.  I'm 50, real soon 51, and I pray to live long enough to see granddaughter and daughter grow up.  Realizing I have to take care of myself, I joined a gym 7 weeks ago and have been going 5 evenings a week.  Lost 16 pounds and feeling the difference.  The last battle for road to great health is my smoking.  So I started on April 30, 2012 beginning of day.  I am now 3 days smoke free.  This is harder then any exercise or diet I have ever done.  As I'm typing this I really want a smoke...why I don't know : )....Its disgusting, dirty & smells.  I will keep update...and looking foward to reading anybody challenge you might be having.

You are a strong person and I wish you continued strength. Most people find it impossible to quit or they get sucked back into the habit even after quitting for a while (hope that's not you!). I usually just tell them that they have the best chance of giving up smoke not by quiting but by going with an alternative-so keep this in mind if you ever feel the need to light one up ever again. It's a change of perspective -don't quit -switch. Smokers should vape with only high tech, modified electronic cigarettes. Cheaper than cigs, no smoke for your lungs anymore, lots of different flavors....devices are even rechargable. My husband smoked for 22 years and hasnt missed a tradtional cigarettes in the last 2 years he has been vaping.
