Cold Turkey

I have been smoking for almost 10 years. I started young, well kinda young, I was 16 years old. I stopped smoking the summer of 08 at the age of 25. I have been smoking regularly, well you know, the usual habit. In the morning on my way to work, smoke breaks, after food, while drinking, social settings, etc. I had a terrible cough and I felt like **** in the morning.  I think one day I just looked in the mirror and after coughing out something aweful, I thought to myself that its time to end this madness. It has been too long and its doing me no good. I cut down to only a few cigarettes per day but that still left me sick. I needed to quit. I tried everything but the only thing that worked was cold turkey. I was telling myself over and over that I didnt need this habit, that it was killing me. I kept telling myself over and over all the bad things about smoking and finally I didnt even have a craving.

Yea I feel 10x better now that I stopped smoking. I dont have that nasty flem in the morning thats for sure.

They say after you quit smoking your body will start to heal and expel the nasty stuff smoking put in. I know I breathe much better now and it's only been a little more than 2 years!
