Nicholas Spark

Nicholas Spark in my opinion is an amazing author.
His books that explore the complex matter of love and the way it can evolve and change an individual.
Many stories do not have a fairy "and they lived happily ever after" ending but they do end with the reader knowing its a love that reaches deep into one's soul.

One of my favourite quotes from him is one from the notebook:

"I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.."

The way Nicholas Spark depicts love is heart retching and emotion stopping.
I find that his ability to make believable situations is the thing that enables many readers to make emotional connections to the character. This is because we can imagine being the character in question.

Also his insights into matters of the heart are similar to mine.
All these things put together result in me crying over his books.

Simply put-
"The greater the love, the greater the tragedy when it's over." -Nights in Rodanthe

His books show some the greatest love stories :)

I saw that movie and keep telling people about that one too. I wasn't even aware that that was Nicholas Spark. Very sad but a swelling tribute to love and love lost and love again being possible. One book I forgot the author to, but took place in the Carolinas that I have yet to see the whole movie was 'The Prince of Tides', and that was spellbinding for me. Thanks for reminding me of these...

I have to read 'Nights in Rodanthe', I loved the movie 'The Notebook', and my ex, has read almost all of his books and felt similar to what you do of his work. Thanks for reminding me and I will definitely keep my eyes out for him at the used book store here in my new town.

Your welcome enjoy reading them :)
