A Child Called "It"

It was a very touching story, not for the faint of heart.  There were parts where I had to stop listening (audiobook) because the details made me sick, I almost threw up once, nearly fainted a while later.

If you think anything has ever made you cry, try this on for size.

I would have to agree, this is a really, really sad story but so inspiring.

This book made me sick too. I can't believe any human being could treat a child this way let alone his own mother. It made me more angry than sad.

It's certainly a harrowing tale, to say the least. My mother nonchalantly gave me this book to read when I was 12 or 13. I wasn't really fazed by it at the time (Parts of it did strike nerves, but I wasn't moved anywhere close to tears; I blame the ADHD medication for that.), but I am certain that I couldn't make it through that book now without tears being shed.
