You know I am always saying that you can use facts & statistics to prove anything you want it to prove. The same goes for the Bible - people read the Bible - imperfect people - just Reading the Bible, just like JUST saying you're a Christian does not mean you are infallible or even what would be labeled a "good" person.

When I was pregnant with my oldest, we belonged to a really great church, but our young adults Sunday School class got very wrapped up in this new way of raising children called, "Growing Kids God's Way" - great title, great concept, definitely a goal for my family - but soon after I was given the book at a baby shower, I read an article that showed how the author's had used a lot of scripture out of context to prove what they were teaching as God's way of raising children. I remember reading the book and being troubled by some of its principles and then this article took the reader through many of the scripture references and placed the verse back in its original context - wow, the scripture wasn't even applicable many of the times once you saw it in full context!

I guess I am using the long way to say, I agree with you, YP, ANYBODY can use the Bible, the Law, Statistics to prove what they want to prove - still doesn't make it the right answer, method, solution, result - sometimes we can't assume just because someone presents "evidence" that the evidence is reliable, objective and/or accurate.

I hope that this made sense... : P
