Christmas Isn't About Boxes And Bags And Lists

i took the day, to do some christmas shopping and made an observation. it's not a new one, just one i finally decided to acknowledge. i saw an elderly man shopping for his grandson and in his hand he held a list with exactly what that grandson wanted, where to buy it and what size and color. i realized my christmas's had come to that- basically buying for someone exactly what they told me to. where is christmas in that? no wonder so many gift cards are so easy to purchase now adays. we seem to give and take from the wallet rather than give and recieve from the heart. i am trashing any lists and if you are going to get a gift from me this year it will not be because it's what you told me you wanted but rather it will be a gift that came from my heart.  god gave us, our king this day.  i don't believe it was on anyone's list but it's something we all needed and wanted.
