The Bitterroots

I grew up hiking, camping, fishing and just plain running wild in the Bitterroot Mountains of Montana.  One of my best memories as a child is looking out the kitchen window on summer mornings and seeing the mountain tops pink with morning light.  We always had the best sunsets too.  I don't miss the winters, but I really miss hiking up into the mountains in the summertime.

My parents had ten acres and Bear Creek ran through it...we used to spend so much time outside, traipsing through the woods, playing hide and seek in the tall ferns that grew in the summertime. As I got older and more afraid of my Dad's temper, I would use the outdoors as an escape.

Good hiking is the one thing that is missing from the area we live now.

I love living in the mountains...I miss my friends...but I do love it here. I don't know if I would move again.
