My thirteen year old daughter recommending this book to me after she had read it at school.

Now I HIGHLY recommend this book for teens AND adults! Why? The overall book is about a teen suicide. The moral of the story is so much more! The bottom line: Our actions or reactions (even the slightest, seemingly insignificant ones) can affect the actions, reactions,and attitudes of others around us. In the case of this book, 13 episodes or people caused a snowball affect that left a lonely teen feeling like she had no other coarse of action but to remove her pain by swallowing a hand full of pills. How sad, useless, and PREVENTABLE! We can ALL learn from this book! On multiple layers. Many teens can relate to the episodes taking place at school and around peers. Parents need to be aware of what their kids are facing amongst peers. Counselors and teachers need to watch for signs of troubled kids, and know when or how to approach them. And the book can teach us ALL how to THINK before we speak or act in a manner that can NEGATIVELY affect another person's life!
I urge you to check this book out, rent it, buy it, whatever! And pass it on! And TALK about it! The better Awareness, the better Prepared-ness! Kudos to my kid for bringing this to my attention! And Kudos to the first-book author that stepped up and wrote a spell bounding story about this controversial subject!

At 10, she MIGHT need a little help reading it. But if she's more mature, then maybe not. And DEFINATELY her mom needs to read it. It's a good reminder to us parents on the "CRAP" teens and kids face at school from others. And for some of us, we might even go: OMG! Kids are DOING THAT at school??!! :O Because the author says he interviewed alot of females (mainly in his fam) to see what kinds of embarrassing things girls delt with in school. And much of it involves relationships with guys, bullying, awareness of sexuality, ect.

THanks, Retro! :) Like you, I was into the book from get-go! I found the author's explaination at the end on HOW he created the story built around tape cassettes very interresting, too! :) Very creative feller! I too am looking forward to future titles from him. I just hope they don't make a movie out of it, and destroy it, like Hollywood did to Lovely Bones! :/

I was going to recommend this book! It has to be the best book I have ever read. I was completely sucked in from the first page. I know everyone says this, but I literally could not put it down, I read it in like 3 days, its phenomenal! Its raw,true and emotional, I loved it. I love the authors writing skills and how much emotion and detail he put into it, I really hope he writes more books in the future because I will for sure pick it up!

I was going to recommend this book! It has to be the best book I have ever read. I was completely sucked in from the first page.
