Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
(1859-1930): Scottish physician and writer who created the character of detective Sherlock Holmes. His works include science fiction stories, plays and non-fiction. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Sign of Four, The Hound of Baskervilles are some of his works.
Richard Wagner (1813-1883): German composer known for his operas which were marked by rich harmonies and leitmotifs. The Ride of the Valkyrie, from the opera Die Valkyrie, The Wedding March, The Flying Dutchman and Tristan und Isolde are his well-known compositions.
Sir Laurence Olivier (1907-1989): English actor, director and producer known for his roles in Shakespearean dramas. His films include Wuthering Heights, Rebecca, Sparatcus, Oh, What a Lovely War, A Bridge too Far, Marathon Man, Clash of the Titans, Hamlet and Henry V. One of most revered actors, he was knighted in 1947 and was nominated for 12 Academy awards, winning two for Hamlet.
