I Remember My First Crush
I used to spend all my summers at my grandmother's house, and I was always fond of her neighbor's grandson Mike. He would always walk down the street with his CD player and earphones in his head bopping to whatever he was listening to. The problem was though that I was 12 and he was almost 18. I told my cousin about my crush on him and she blew it off to just be some kind of puppy love. I thought she didn't understand because I really wanted to be his girlfriend but I was a shy girl, so I never said anything on my own. Then all of a sudden, Mike starts coming down the street and sitting on the porch with me and talking to me, when he's never said anything more than a curt "Hey." or something. So, yeah, I thought this to be a bit suspicious. He told me that his friend (the one that grew up with my cousin) told him that I liked him. I wanted to melt into the concrete right there! But I held my ground, ready for the rejection to come, but there never was one. He told me that he thought I was cute and that he'd been having these feelings towards me, but out of respect for my family, also knowing how much younger I was than him, he said that nothing can happen between us, though when I turn 18, then we can do whatever. So all we did was talk and share pieces of our lives, our dreams, what we wanted out of life.......
Until "The Kiss" It was a hot afternoon and rain clouds were coming in, but I didn't care, I was wrapped up in my own head. Then it started pouring rain and my grandmother came to the door to tell me to come in. She left, and that left me and Mike standing there not saying anything. He tells me to go in the house before I get a whooping, and I laugh and he hugs me and just as I'm about to let go of the hug, he kisses me. It was a quick, light peck on the lips, but it still made my heart beat out my chest. I turned and went inside and when I turned back, he was there making sure I got in the house before leaving...........
That was my first kiss from my first crush and it will always be one I'll never forget. But hey, I'm 18 now, I might have to see what my crush is up to and see if his offer still stands..............
