First Love

It was grade 8 gym class 1985. she tip towed bare foot across the gymnasium floor. Her beautiful tender eyes, flawless pale skin, lovely brown hair and slenderness. My breath stopped as i watched. Our eyes met and i'll never forget her smile. I admired her for many years after, then without ever a goodbye - I moved away in grade 11. My immaturity ruined an everlasting friendship. Its been 26 years since, and even though I am happily married with children. Not a week goes by when i dont stop and think of her. Perhaps I'm the only one in love - but missing her still hurts never the less.

Aw, that's sweet. Just remember that even if we don't end up with our crushes, they still have a positive effect on who we are and what we want. Its nice that you still remember.

There is not a week that goes by that I do not think about my first love. Seems like just yesterday but we met in 1990, my Junior year of high school and she was a Freshman from a nearby HS. We met at one of her basketball games then ran into each other the following weekend. We were together 24/7 for two years until I, unfortunately met my other love, beer. I wish I would have not been so easily influenced by my buddies who were jealous of what I had. I look back at those times as the best in my life; I sure wish things would have worked out for us.
