I Remember My First Kiss
Before I tell you the story, I have to tell you a little about where I was at. I had my first kiss at a football game at my high school. The baseball field is right next to the football field and from the bleachers by the baseball field you can perfectly see the football game. My friends and I always go to the baseball bleachers because it isn't insanely crowded and just loud enough so that you can still hear what's going on. Next to the bleachers there is a tall green shed where they keep equipment and things. Can you picture this in your head? Good. Now I can tell my story. It was a Monday night and only the freshman team plays on Monday night but in the town I live in ANY and EVERY kind of football game is important. The Sunday before (9/11, creepy) a boy I'd known, named Alec, for a couple years admitted to me that he liked me and couldn't stop thinking about me since he talked to me last. On Monday he asked me out at lunch and I said yes. Later we agreed to meet at the game that night. I told him about the baseball bleachers and that my best friend and her boyfriend (my ex, which I was somewhat still upset about) and a bunch of my other friends were going to be there too and he agreed to meet me there. It was 6:03 PM when he got there and it was one of those last clear, 75 degree weather, perfect kind of nights that made wish it was still summer. My skin was still tan and my hair was still light brown from spending so much time in the sun. I was leaning against the railing of the bleachers talking and laughing with my friends. Alec leaned on the rail next to me and his hand touched mine. That was enough to give me major butterflies and forget about how my ex was sitting there with his arms around my best friend. Eventually, we sat down and Alec held my hand or had his arm around me while we watched the game. One of my favorite memories from that night was how he said, right in front of all his friends and my friends, "I have to confess something... you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." When the game was almost over, we walked down the bleachers hand in hand and stood next to the equipment shed. I turned around and noticed that my friend and my ex were kissing and I looked back up at Alec. I just laughed a little. I noticed then how the moonlight made his dark brown hair look almost black and how shiny it was. I noticed how his eyes were bright blue. I noticed how he had the cutest freckle right next to his nose. Then he looked at me. Really looked into my eyes and just had that face and I knew he was thinking "Should I do this?" He put his hand on the back of my neck and leaned down (way down, he's much much taller than me) and pressed his lips against mine. I put my arms around his neck and it seemed like we stayed that way forever, but definitely not long enough. After he kissed me he put his forehead against mine and put his arms around me and I kept my arms around him. We're still together today, 9 months later. And I've never been happier.
