My grandparents lived in a large Victorian house on the corner of two streets downtown. I loved to visit because I was very close to my grandmother. Now that I'm an adult, I realize it's because we are so much alike, and I'm proud of that.

Her house always smelled so great, like clean laundry mixed with home-cooked food, potpurri, and her Opium perfume. There was a huge living room with a shiny hardwood floor and all of her furniture was Victorian. There was a big front porch that Grandma and I used to sit on, tossing stale bread crumbs to the birds.

She collected Tiffany stained glass and Fenton art glass, so every room held at least one or two pieces of colorful art, which inspired my love for the glass today. Every Sunday she prepared a huge 5-course meal for the entire family after church, and I always remember there being a lace tablecloth on the long dining table.

When I would stay all night, my grandma and I would stay up late, make microwave popcorn and watch Nick-At-Nite (on Nickelodeon), my favorite channel back then. I even remember our favorite shows: I Love Lucy, Car 54 Where Are You, and The **** Van Dyke Show.

This is a great group, and I appreciate the opportunity to stroll down memory lane!!!
