I Remember My Past Lives
the bone crunching and organs exploding from the abdominal cavity of the fallen man as the 67 tons steel vehicle rolled over his corpse, was a sound so horrifying it would eventually drive men to madness if they were to ever survive this grotesque war. His body was smashed into the mud like a strange unrecognizable species of giant red squid, as the intestine like tenticles lay strewn in every direction imaginable. he nearly stumbled and fell into the blood soaked and flesh lined trench left by the weight of the tank's merciless tracks. he instinctively fell to his knees and vomited in dire disbelief before the horror of what he had just witnessed, like a priest at the alter of some unfathomable power. then he remembered what she had done to him, that summer before the war. as he gazed in a drunken like stupor at the remains of that poor decimated human creature, he realized what it invoked deep within him was identical to the the way she left his heart to rot. finally he thought to himself before rising to leave the sickening scene, "well, better that than to live another day with her".
