Vivid Memory

When John was killed I was in middle school and had been a Beatles fan since I was 7 years old.  Oddly enough, "Help" was supposed to be aired on TV late-night and I was waiting for it to come on after the football game, so I had the game on.  I wasn't paying attention to the game itself and then Howard Cossel, who was announcing the game, said that John Lennon had died.  I watched the news and found out what had happened.  I was in shock.  My parents had been out and when they got home I just cried with my mom sitting on the side of my bed.  After that, I could never listen to "Happy Xmas, War is Over" without feeling like crying.
