Lol. A Lifetime Ago

Long time ago, way back, way, way back, December 8th, 1973.

I was with my aunt in Key West, we were down on the blvd getting something for dinner. She had stopped in one shop to look at pelicans, and I had gone in the chinese place for carry out.

I placed the order and was walking out the door and  Bam!!! I was run over by this guy. I didn't fall because he caught me.

But ...yeah... here he was. Not that tall, but tall enough I tilted my head up to look at him.

Long long dark hair, headband, laughing brown eyes, puzzled smile.

He smelled like salt and surf. His shirt was unbuttoned and his jeans fit oh so nice. Tan,,, gods ....surfer tanned.

Definitely not a body builder, but muscled...swimmer, yep... surfer...perfect.

He tilted his head down, kissed me, asked my name...

and wandered off.

And that was a view I was appreciating too. Jeans really did fit quite nice, and there was this loose smooth walk, that only someone that's on the water can pull off.

Years later I met him again. The hair had started to gray, and he was now wearing glasses...

But all I saw was the West boy.
