The 5 & Dime

Woolworths, Newberrys, etc. For a kid they were a fairly land. Plus for adults they had a bit of so MUCH.

Oh, Woolworth's... I miss that store, too! lol That's where I remember buying my little Star Wars action figures, and a handcuff set that I took out of the store to show my mom... the alarm went off of course. lol

McCrory's was another one in our town. That's where I used to get my ba<x>seball cards.

I forget them. I've been to a McCrory's, but not sure if it was where I grew up or where I went to college.

We had Fuston's five & dime. Three stories of pure heaven for a kid. Nothing better then being turned loose to explore all areas while my Mom shopped for whatever it was she needed that trip.<br />

And there wasn't any worries about someone snatching you up and carrying you off either.

Never heard of a Fuston's.

It was owned by one of the bigger families in the town I grew up in. I'm sure you wouldn't find another one any where else. :-D

We had them both right in the next town. I remember the wonderful Woolworths lunch counter, and it seemed like they both had just anything you could want. I miss them.
