...remembering The Trade Centers....

...I was getting ready for work & had the TV on in the living room...I remember seeing the first "hit"...smoke pouring out, and thinking, "oh, a fire, they will get it out soon"...and then remembered when I had gone to the top of the trade center on one of my visits to Manhattan..while putting on the last touches of mascara...then...listening to the news, the first tower collapsed and I realized what was happening...horrified, (and too stunned to react because I was now running late to get to work), I took to the freeway & flipped on KFI & Bill Handle as he began narrating the 2nd hit & collapse of the 2nd tower....I pulled over on the freeway, shocked & crying....that day at school (I teach 8th grade) I had the TV on in the class & we experienced that beyond, saddest day together. Several years later, I visited ground zero...& spent several hours at St. Paul's Church...(I am thinking that is the name of the church....but not quite sure)...humbled at all that had been....and is...."we will remember".....and on a personal note, my sister's only son is serving in Afghanistan right now...and a prayer is in my heart always....
