For the Most Part, Yes.&nbs...

For the most part, yes.  However, I no longer assume that people older than me are worthy of respect simply due to their age.  I have a coworker who is 70 if she's a day.  She NEEDS to hurry up and DIE already or retire.  She's cranky, has the thickest, fullest beard I've ever seen on a woman NOT in a circus freak show and her attitude sucks.

Just today, she told me, "Filing your divorce papers is NOT 'rock on.'  Ruining your marriage by ending it is not a good thing."

*****!  She needs to keep her nose (and opinions) out of my ******* business!

If an elder is unworthy of respect or does something disrespectful, they WILL feel my wrath!

People earn respect and are not due it because of age. The old saying of due unto others comes to mind.

Well put! I agree.
