A Fantasy

I've been rollerblading ever since my big brother taught me to when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I'm almost 16 now, and I still love it. When we lived in town, I used to throw on my blades (they were my brothers.. he gave them to me for Christmas when I got good at it) and just go off into my fantasy world, rollerblading around town without a care in the world. Then, I grew out my blades... and we have no money for new ones... but thats okay.. now that we live in the country, I don't really have anywhere to blade at, anyway... I still have my memories, though.. and I still have those old blades.

Yeah, my boyfriend keeps telling me that I need to go buy me some new blades. He said he'd take me to a skaters joint and we'd go blading together. I'm pretty excited and really want to do it. The only thing is, since my car accident, I don't know if I can blade anymore. I haven't tried yet. I mean, I've gained almost all the feeling back in my left leg and I can walk now and even jog, and I have most of my balance back now that the partial paralysis is gone, but its still a scary thought for me to try. But, someday I'm sure I'll brave it.

You should buy a pair of skates that fit n go on random vacations. lol. I feel the same as you, I've been blading since i was 5 n my mom always told me i took to it like a fish takes to water. its always made me happy. i am 16 now n it still amazes me that nothing makes me as happy as riding my blades, n i couldn't live without them. anyway It's good to know that other people love the feel of eight wheels and the world beneath you.
