Train Of Terror

I was getting on the train headed north in December 1999. We had waited forever for the arrival of the train. Starving and ready to have breakfast we sit comfortably in the dining car and order our meal. Then chatting allong the rails all a sudden I hear a scream.

The woman at the next table is yelling "Help he is choking!" "Get someone!" "Help". I jump up and without thinking try to bear hug him to give it a try. The guy was twice my weight so it wasn't going to work. I see his lips turning blue. Then I look at his upper rib area and press as hard as possible to give it a upward force. He coughs and then it comes up a bit. I Try again and it isn't quite working. I run to call help. Then go back and with aide of my family banging his back. I give another thrust to his stomach area and he coughs up a piece of ham. 

They cancel the order for "Help in the dining car" and ask him if he wants it "heated up". I never got a thanks for even did he say "hi" the entire ride up north from Florida. I think he and his Wife were embrassed. I probley could of been sued these days if I hurt his ribs! But, he might be alive someplace enjoying his grandkids maybe. I know he would of died if I hadn't helped. So, knowing that makes me smile. No one needs to thank me.
