I Saw "9 to 5"
Dolly Parton seems to be a theme today; first someone posted "Islands in the Stream", the duet she sang with Kenny Rogers, which is one of my alltime favorite songs, most likely the best duet ever made Cheryl Crowe and Kid Rock. I am getting off topic, but "9 to 5" was the only movie I had ever seen with my mother when I was a teenager. There must have been other movies she had taken me to as a child, but I specifically remember I was thirteen when it came out, and I really wanted to go, and as we had just moved into town, I did not have any friends to go with, so I did not want to go alone (or rather, she would not let me go alone, lol). She was a chainsmoker, so she really didn't watch the movie, as she was out in the lobby (yes, back in those days people could smoke indoors) most of the time. This is one of the special memories I have of her and I spending quality time together; just the two of us.
..and I've always hated the premise of working "9 to 5", monday to friday, fulltime, 5 days a week. I am a night owl, so working mornings had never ever sat well with me. Not that I never did; I worked office jobs when I was young, but they had drained me. I hate routine. I hate office politics.
