Kid Commerce

A seven year old girl had her Lemonade stand shut down. The county health department says she needs a license that cost  $ 120.00 to sell cups of the beverage.  I just say no to that . Kids can earn and learn  so much from their little stands. Counting money, talking to customers and teamwork.  The proceeds were going to a cause of her choice.. A summer arts festival.  Another great reason to participate & support kid commerce. I had a little stand as a child..Summer fun and  busy hands!     Every youngster should experience earning money.  Thumbs down on taking the experience away from children  no

Ah..that was a cool thing to do.I bet the girl's talked about it all day. It's amazing you even saw a Lemonaid stand. You're thoughtful and sweet. I thank you for commenting and as always, made me smile.

I was doing some work today and had to go into town and pickup some supplie's and happen to see somthing on the sidewalk in front of an apartment complex, two little girl's with a lemonaid stand. I hit the first side road and whipped a uturn. How much for a cup of lemonaid young lady and she said fifty cent's a cup and I said can I have a cup please. I had already pulled two dollar's out of my pocket and I paid her and told her the rest was a tip. It was well worth the two buck's to see those two little girl's getting excited over those two buck's and they made my day as well plus the lemonaid was good and cold. My Best.

What a cool idea BillyB..a newspaper . I should have my class make some too. I love it.Thanks!

I chip in too Robert. .Even if the Lemonade maker needs lessons..I think it's wondeful to encourage children. Well said.

It's getter harder and harder for kid's to be kid's today. It is not often I see a kid set up with a stand of anykind these day's but if I see a lemonaid stand I will do a uturn and go back to it. I still remember our stand's when we were kid's so no matter the asking price I alway's tip them a buck or two more and it is well worth the drink and the smile on their face. My Best

Yep..the health Dept should stop by the Lemonade stand and apologize..oh and buy a cup from the kids. Big dummies.

You'd think the county health department would have more important problems to worry about than a kids lemonade stand.

Hi ya'll..yeah..it's an American tradition for kids.we also drank a bit of our profits away. But we learned that & had to go home and make more. When business was booming, we felt proud and serious! I bought some from a little girl at a garage sale. It was icky..LOL..I didn't let her know..After making a big fuss, her eyes showed pride. It was very cute. Support your local kiddie venders. :>)

I agree with you, Mom...I had no idea this had happened though! I mean, I can understand getting a license to sell something like alcohol, weapons, or something that's regulated...but lemonade? That's ridiculous! Like you said, the sooner kids get to experience things, the more mature they become.

Time for a good revolution..every Mom and Dad..get the lemonade pitchers filled & get the kids involved. I hope they never try taking that away from anyone again. Kool-aid anyone? That just makes me smile.

I saw that this morning, and supposedly the city counsil changed some ruling they had made. and now kids will not need to get a license.<br />
