Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10
Who can find a virtuous woman? She is like a rare gem. Precious stones are costly because they are so rare. The ruby, for instance, has been the world's most valued gemstone for thousands of years because of its beauty and rarity.
It is the rare, hard to find gems that are worth a lot. And for some reason, God made most common stones unattractive but He made most rare stones very beautiful and brilliant. The virtuous woman is a beautiful woman, not necessarily outwardly, but inwardly (Prov. 31:30). She is not only a rare gem but a beautiful gem.
From this we see that the godly (virtuous) woman is hard to find. She is worth more than a precious stone. She has an inner beauty and strength of character that is, in God's eyes, very valuable. She is likened unto a rare gem, the ruby.
