    Actually, you should drink water in proportion to your weight and activity.

    1/2 ounce per pound

    So if you weigh a 100 pounds, then you would need 50 ounces.

    P.s. a cup is equivalent to 8 ounces

    If your active, for example outside in the summer (ie sweating a lot...meaning higher water loss), then you woud need to up your water intake in order to keep yourself internally balanced!



    Proper water intake helps regulate weight/metabolism, keep rythmic cycles in balance, help maintain brain, nerve nd muscle function...just to name the more superficial and immediate type of benefits of hydration!

    I find that proper hydration is the biggest violation in people's dietary habits.
