Hello shook. No, I don't think they smoke until they die. I gave up weed and cigarettes on July 6, 2004. I've been clean for 6 years. I recently saw a documentary that a friend posted on facebook. It was really quite interesting. It had new and much improved facts about the use to maraijuana. It's not half as bad as once thought. Made me think of going back to it, ahahaha!!! If you'd like to see it, I could send you the link!!! :-D

WOW pamster, good for you!!! I wish you the best on trying to get cleaned up. I tried and failed for about 10 years. I didnt finally conquer it until all that hell broke loose, lol. I can laugh about it now, but those years between 2004 and 2008 were the most horrible years of my life. Not only for me with the breakdown and those flashbacks but also for my husband who suffered 3 strokes and 2 seizures. Things are much better now, MUCH BETTER!!!! I wish you the very best of luck. If you ever feel like you might not be able to make it, contact me and I will try my best to keep you on track, OK, I really mean that!!! :-)

Hello scottishscot, there were a few things that happened to me that had a great effect on me. For one thing I was tired of smoking weed. It wasn't the same for me anymore. I would smoke weed then feel guilty because I wanted to quit but couldn't get that monkey off my back. Then I started feeling or going through some very strange and horrifying feelings while I was stoned. I wouldn't find out until a little later what was happening to me. One night as I was on my porch getting "stoned," I started crying and I was talking to GOD. I had prayed many times to HIM but nothing ever happened. I told GOD, "I put myself in your hands, do whatever you have to do to change me!" I meant with my smoking problem. I continued smoking for the next few weeks, then ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!!! My husband had his first stroke, after 3 weeks of being in the hospital with him, I went into a mental breakdown. Those freaky experiences I was going through while I was stoned was the beginnings of flashbacks from Ptsd. I was diagnosed with Ptsd, I had it since I was 8 years old. I'm not sure what exactly made me quit but I NEVER wanted to feel that horrible feeling of being stoned and getting the most terrifying feeling coming over me. So I will never really know if GOD truly intervened, was it that I quit because my husband had to quit smoking cigarettes because of his strokes. So between the two of us we quit smoking cigarettes, drinking, smoking weed, all on the same day. The day of his first stroke. My counselor who is a very spiritual woman, told me that you have to be careful what you ask of the LORD. So to me, GOD did what he had to do, to change me. I will be clean for 6 years on July 6, 2010!!!

Yeah, Henry, I use to do that too. Take a puff while driving, put it down fast so no one would see me. I live in a county where everyone knows everyone. So we had to be careful. They probably all knew I smoked weed anyway but still I never liked to advertize, lol. Now I have a son in law who works for the sherriffs department here in our county so I'm REALLY happy that I quit!!! :-)

LOL, hello Longhorn!!! You know after I quit smoking, I did not and could not hear any rock music from my past. Like AC/DC, Boston, all that great music. I can now listen to it again and totally enjoy it. I would even have dreams about being stoned and wake up all weirded out. Of course that was my Ptsd. The thing is, I have gotten use to not being a pothead and I'm finally ok with it. Just hope I don't pick up the habit again, lol!!! :-P
