First of I'll start my response to your comment by stating that ALL things effect your mind and if you haven't became aware of this fact then you are living in a clouded and distorted reality that you have created for yourself. The other statement you so boldly made was " hes claims no addiction like others do but he can't stop it." You speak as if you are an authority on the subject and in fair sport I'll give you a chance to explain yourself and prove that you know something about the complex issue of psychological addiction and marijuana to add a little validity to your extremely dry attack response.. I'm not Addicted I choose to experience the plant when I so desire to. And I also choose not to use it when I desire to. You can't just make such a black and white statement like you have to say all who use it are addicted.

Nor can you hide behind someone else's experiences such as your family's and demonize all who use it. Maybe your family has had tough times with it because they already have had there own psychological and social issues prior to using it which only amplified the truth of their own lives.

And although you are correct that marijuana effects the central nervous system when on it I still have to ask yourself what doesn’t? surly you better not consume alcohol. or all foods you buy in a box or in your grocery store in general if you are so deeply concerned about this issue. You are being poisoned from all fields of your life my friend from the spiritual all the way down to the physical to the foods we eat, and the air we breath.

and I'll close with this. The burn out hippy faze has never gotten any real "power" the only faze that’s left is truth. and you are standing on the other side of the fence pouting like a baby because you just don't understand.

Personally I smoke weed and I've never been happier in my life. The Benefits are huge. I found myself being in a good mood more often and much more social and it also makes me think about my flaws and how I can fix them. It has never hindered me academically nor has it removed any of my motivation, actually I got a job for this summer which I've never done! So if you're on the Fence about it and are a healthy person in general, definitely

    Go for it!

@Carl09 whoever once said you had to smoke the plant it has more uses than your apparent "massive" brain can comprehend. Its purposes are exponential and plentiful, so before you start trying to spit your useless govt issued retoric here go find out the truth. Who said I had to pay for it either I grow my own cannabis for my own purposes. I'm no drug dealer I just appreciate the effects and benefits of a beautiful herb.

whosh! well said! the first levi's jeans were made out of cannabis, one pair of them was found in a desert in the wild wild west and they found out that it was there for more than 100 years and still looked like jeans :)

lets make out own cannabis country!! :)

i use not a little bit of it to help fight the side effects of decadron and some other fairly strong meds I need to take due to a braintumor. Smoking some grass daily lets me be productive - I have a house to clean up, two kids and a wife to cook for, I can't just fill myself up with conventional medicine and turn into a turnip on the couch while the housework piles up.

to irishgurl01: search for cannabutter - it's a way of extracting THC into butter which you can then bake with/cook with whatever so you don't have to smoke it. Or green dragon - that's an alcohol tincture - you soak the weed in something high % for several weeks and have an extract to either drink or use in cooking/baking.

give us an update on how it worked....

When my son did his tour in Afghanistan, he got a video clip of a local walking down the road with a cannabis plant over his shoulder. The man smiled at him, pointed at the shrub and said, "Hashish, hashish!" It grows wild there.

-God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything what he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31)

I am no bible thumper either wanderingthroughlife, probably the farthest thing from it, but there are countless mentions of cannabis-or kaneh-bosm as it is called- in the bible. In the old testament it first appears with the prophet Moses. At the beginning of his shamanic career, Moses discovers the angel of the Lord in flames of fire within a bush. Later, a more direct reference to cannabis is made; Moses is instructed by God to anoint his followers, the meeting tent and all its furnishings with specially prepared oil, containing hemp. The ancient recipe for this anointing oil, recorded in the Old Testament book of Exodus included over nine pounds of flowering cannabis tops, extracted into oil and a variety of other herbs and spices. The ancient chosen ones were literally drenched in this potent cannabis holy oil.

-and the lord said to Moses, take the following fine spices, 500 sheckels of liqid mhrrh, half as much of fragrant cinnamon,250 shekels of kanehbosm, 500 shekels of cassia and unto these, make a sacred annointing oil.'(Exodus 30:22-33)

-I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more." (Ezekiel 34:29)

-And it shall be a healing plant. On either side of the river, the tree of life was kanehbosm which bore 12* manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. A gift from god (Revelations 22:1-2)

*note-cannabis was used 12 different ways in the bible; for clothing, sails, rope and oil, for fishing nets and paper, as a sealant, as incense, in food, for ceremony, relaxation and finally, as a medicine.

    - For so the Lord said unto me, "I will take my rest and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs. For afore harvest, when the bud is perfect and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away and cut down the branches. (Isaiah 18:4-5)

-He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.(Psalms CIV, v. 14-15)

Most on this sight understand the benefits of marijuana but here is a different take...I come from the midwest where "hemp for victory" during WWII was very successful...Why? Because to grow tobacco is extremely difficult...it is dangerous and labor intensive; marijuana is the exact opposite. I once had a conversation with a real ***** who was telling me he didn't "do drugs" as he stood there with a beer and a cigarette in his hands. What happened to personal freedom? What happened to common sense...if you don't believe me spend a summer planting, harvesting and drying tobacco.
