Snow In Maine

I not sure what this titel means, but here is my short story about snow.

I have lived in Maine most of my life and I am a Maine native. There is an saying in Maine "if you don't like the weather wait five minets it will change." Winter in Maine is long and hard, it starts getting cold in late September at night and spring does not araive untill mid May or so. I start running my pellet stove in October untill late May and when I here my furnace going I crinch, at $3.50 or so a gallon for heating oil and I use about 700 gallons a winter it SUCKS!!!

But wait, lets talk about snow, I LOVE SNOW!!! To me it mother nature way I know its cold but I have this beatfull blanket of white to keep you warm. I know it sounds crazy but it does insulate, and it makes it very pretty outside. I must say winter to me is lovey to see. I snowmobile, snowshoe, hockey, and just love looking at snow covered mountains. Live is different up here in the woods(no I don't live in Lewiston, just west in to the foothills of Maine:)
You still see how people lived like they did 100 to 200 years ago, the old barns, old house, the smell of wood burning, fall harvest and fall fairs. When the snow comes I love to go to a mountain top about 4000 feet in the air and look all around and see the world covered in snow, to me it like a relegous experence. I have told my wife when I die sprekel my ashes on the mountain top so I can be between god and you and my love of winter.

Yes I love snow!

Your story has taken me back to the early 1970s when I too lived up in the North Woods of Maine. The old houses and barns, the smell of wood burning stoves, the fall harvest, and fairs. I too remember the peaceful look of the new snow on the mountains, lakes, and potato fields. I also loved to catch a glimpse of a moose or black bear from time to time.....and the fishing was fantastic. Thanks for the memories.

That yes snow can be a fun thing to play in and also to watch it fall. I was going to say is to enjoy the same things but also is good for snow skiing. I can think it must be nice to be that high on a monatine and look down on everything else to see what it looks like.
