I Should Have Been Born In The 70's

Honestly, I feel as though I am a generation behind. I don't understand current pop culture, nor do I care to. I'm 24, and my favorite band is Pink Floyd. I love 80's music. I dress in the same outfit day in and day out: jeans, a tank top, and a leather jacket, ala 80's. I keep my hair long and simple, with no highlights or styling. My boyfriend is 12 years older than me, and we are so compatible. We love the same silly 80's action movies, love Les Miserables, love Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin. I talk to people my own age about these things, they look at me with the deer in the headlights type look. Who's with me?

Oh what I would give to not remember a thing from Woodstock

I was born in 1957, so the 70's was high school and some colledge plus work. There really was A LOT OF DRUGS. Graduated high school in 1975, ( private school, had 2 have a military hair cut) so I grew my hair, went 2 years with getting it cut. Smoked a lot of pot did my share of drugs (would not shoot up anything) Then I became a full fledge alcoholic. Yesterday at the store i heard over the intcome Deep Purple " Highway Star" . Humble Pie was my favorite rock group, The Album "Smokin" was so cool, (in my dumb brain). I had a lot of good times, which leads to me now working my *** off to get by. It truewly was a time and place, Nixon, Veitnam war.<br />

I grew up in the late 70's early 80's and have met so many people that feel the same way.I wish I could go back and re live those times. It was great fun.I remember lining outside a concert venue all night long to be first to get a priority number to buy tix at 8 am.Going to Licorice Pizza which was a record store in SoCal and also Tower Records. We would hang out at Tower Records till 11 at night browsing the albums and talking.Love those days.

I would LOVE to live in 60's and 70's, I love hippie philosophy as well as music of these decades. Thumbs Up for PINK FLOYD as well ;)

Here here!!

I am SO with you.

i was born in the late 70's and grew up in the 80's, loving every minute of the era during my childhood. i miss it a lot sometimes. being a kid in the 80's rocked, however i kinda get how you're feeling about being born in the wrong time... i feel i would have been better off being born in the early 60's!
