I Don't Like Touching

There is this lady that I worked with that was constantly rubbing my back every time she came near me. It made my skin crawl. I told her to please stop doing that, and she asked my why? I tried to be nice and just told her I don't like people touching me. Everyone in the office within hearing range just gasped like I had said something so strange. The truth is this lady gives me the creeps. I am affectionate with people I am close to, but I don't like acquaintances rubbing my back or any body part for that matter. Is this a strange request?

Thanks. I was wondering if that was a strange thing to say since the other coworkers sitting near me had such a strange reaction when I told her to stop touching me.

NO!!!!!! IF YOU THINK SHE IS CREEPY ,THEN YOU ARE O.K<br />
IF SHE WAS A WOMAN THAT YOU LIKED--- IT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT STORY.

There are people that I wish I could tell not to touch me, but I am much too passive. I just deal with the uncomfortable feeling. Good job for you!

exactly

This is very much not a strange request. I have told people to not touch me if they creep me out. We are all allowed to have personal space, it isn't a crime against others.
