Perplexed

I hope some of you will pardon the use of the word "He".  I don't think it's so much 'anger' as it is confusion and frustration.  I've got questions.  I want to have faith.

1)  Why were miracles performed to strengthen the  faith of the people 2000 years ago, but not now.

2)  Why would He have so many negative human attributes, like anger, and jealousy.  Why does the Bible say He punishes children to fourth generation for one mans sins.  Why would He have a man die a horrible painful death for picking up sticks on a certain day of the week?  Why would he order his people to slaughter women and old people and babies?  If he is omniceint, omnipresent, and omnipotent., why does he bother being angry if he knew what man was going to do all along?  How could the Lord be sorry that he made mankind?  ( unless the Bible contains untruths....)  Why was Judas painted so darkly if he only helped Jesus do what He was sent to do in the first place?  I have a ton of questions for those who claim that the Bible is the literal word of God.  To say that the Bible is the literal word of God, would be to say that God is confused, and that would be blaspheme against the Holy spirit which is supposed to be the only unforgivable sin.   (??????????)

***********Arrrrgh***********  Like the man in the New Testament said, "Lord I believe, help thou my unbelief."
